Restaurants, a supermarket and a lovely outdoor swimming pool are within walking distance. Due the convenient location of the accommodation you can enjoy the Sun every day, or simply enjoy the nature or the waterfall in front of the door.
A little further away is the natural swimming pool Presseggersee and Weissensee with a lot of water sports. The NTC Outdoor-Park Nassfeld has an abundance of mountain sports activities and at the Madritschen is even a special kids-climb race course. An adventurous walk in a beautiful gorge in the area. There are also many mountain bike and hiking trails abound on different levels in the nearby Karinthische en Gailtal Alpen, Weissensee and around Weissbriach. A day of touring with the car than a visit to the three country point Arnoldstein (Austria, Italy, Slovenia), but also for the motorcyclist it is here a paradise!

From the Haus Holunder are many excursions to different mountain huts. Also are there many beautiful hiking-trails and mountain-bike-trials in the vicinity of Weissensee, Karnischen und Gailtaler Alpen. In NTC Outdoor-Park Nassfeld is a wealth of mountain sports: mountain biking, mountain climbing, Segway-tour, canoe Raftung etc.
In Weissbrach within walking distance from Haus Holunder is a large outdoor pool with a Pizza restaurant with a view of the mountains. At the Presseggersee there are wonderful beaches with lawns and various restaurants, where you can rent boats, pedal boats, etc. In the amusement park, children can enjoy play equipment, trampolines and much more. At the Weissensee it is possible to go swimming, sailing, windsurfing, kayaking, canoeing or rafting. Water sports are an activity for young and old.
Bicycles can be rented in Weissbriach. The advent of the e-Bike, a bicycle with electric pedal assistance, makes cycling in the mountains possible for everyone. The region around the Gailtal/Gitschtal/Weißensee has the densest network of cycle paths in Carinthia for both e-Bike and MTB. Some cycling tours can be combined with a visit to neighboring Italy, Slovenia or a boat trip on the Weißensee. At Haus Holunder there is a garage and possible repair options available for the bicycles.
Carinthia is with its varied landscape and the setting of mountains and lakes, absolutely ideal for motorcyclists. The well-maintained roads and the combination with the beautiful views make motorcycling in Austria a special experience. A visit to Italy by several passes certainly makes it interesting. If you don't feel like going all the way on your motorbike, but you only want to enjoy Austria, you can take the train from Düsseldorf to Villach (in June, July, August and September). The trip can be booked via Booking Urlaubs Express. At Haus Holunder is a garage and possibly repair facilities for the engines.
For a bit of adventure, there are several gorges nearby. The Garnitzenklamm is a natural experience near Hermagor-Nassfeld-Gailtal. The Weißenbachklamm is located in the Gitschtal and is known as a natural jewel. The Mauthner Klamm nearby Kötschach-Mauthen offers a lot of adventure. And many other gorges and mountain huts are here.
Hiking in Italy, you'll be there in no time! There are also several beautiful hiking trails. eg Monte Lussari with the gondola or on foot to the top. Laghi di Fusine two sparkling lakes where you can walk around and which is accessible to everyone. A visit to the market hall in Tarvisio is also worthwhile.
Southwest of Kranjska Gora, at the gates of the Triglav National Park, Lake Jasna nestles in the Slovenian mountains in the interior of Slovenia. The shore around the lake offers green areas for sunbathing. Only 1 hour away from our house.
